Piney Grove is a mission minded congregation and will serve wherever there is a need. We support our community in many ways. First, some of our community outreach missions are Vacation Bible School, Trunk or Treat and the annual Easter Egg Hunt, which we invite our community to join in to learn about Jesus. Second, through our missions we provide a food pantry for those in need and support the Back Pack program at an area elementary school. Third, when a disaster or emergency strikes our state or region, we collect needed supplies for distribution among those in crisis and have sent volunteers to assist in rebuilding. These are just some ways we interact with our community to share the love of God.

How Piney Grove Serve Others

Piney Grove Baptist Church - MissionsMissions are an important part of Piney Grove Baptist Church and its outreach in the local community and the world.  Piney Grove believes that missions can be for everyone, including prayer, volunteering, giving, and service.  Our Missions Council oversees the development and work of Mission Teams in our church.  Our Director of Missions can help you find your calling and make a different info our community.  Below is a list of the current Mission Teams that are active in our church and community.

Grove’s Helping Hand

Our food closet receives non-perishable food items throughout the church year.  Hunger is an ever-present reality in our rural community.  The food closet is available for those in and outside of the church who live in our immediate parish community.  Families needing food should contact the church office at (336) 356-4196 where you will be connected with the Benevolence and Community Crisis Team.

Special Friends

The Special Friends team provides ministries to special needs persons in the community, including transportation from a local group home to worship, Christian education, coordinating volunteer efforts at the Special Olympics, Vacation Bible School, and social events throughout the year. We also have a Sunday school class specially designed for special needs adults.

Backpack Meals

This team works in a partnership with local elementary schools. Throughout the year, the congregation donates non-perishable food items that are distributed to local elementary schools. Many elementary students receive free lunch during the week, which means many of them go without through the weekend. These backpacks stocked with fruit, soup, pudding, among other foods and a variety of snacks, feed our hungry children each weekend throughout the academic year.

Children’s Missions

GAs (Girls in Action) and RAs (Royal Ambassadors) are mission groups for girls and boys in elementary school. Younger children are a part of Mission Friends. These groups meet on 4th and 5th Wednesday nights of each month at 6:30 PM. They learn about missionaries and find creative ways to participate in missions. They also attend local and CBFNC mission events designed for children.
